Grindy Malone (Katie MacNichol – Bamboozled, Law & Order) wants in on the New York fashion scene and is willing to do anything to get her foot in the door. Ronnie Grossman (David Thornton – The Notebook, Alpha Dog), the CEO for Manhattan fashion designer Poncho Ramirez (Juan Carlos Hernandez – Carlito’s Way: Rise to Power) is responsible with marketing director Franca Fortuna (Saundra Santiago – The Sopranos, Miami Vice) to ensure that the PR brand is a success. Enter Grindy who lands a job at Poncho Ramirez at the low point of the Manhattan fashion house.

Romeo Jeans founder, Ira Gold (Jerry Grayson – Find Me Guilty, The Sopranos), a sleazy operator is looking to beef up his fall sales line and takes direct aim at the struggling Poncho Ramirez brand. Feeling like he has no other choice, Ronnie, the CEO for Poncho, strikes a pact with the devil Ira to handle the hot new line of designer jeans that Poncho has come up with thanks to wonder girl Grindy.

Things take off beyond their wildest dreams and now the only goal on everyone’s mind is cashing out on a IPO. But with all the good news comes some bad. The manufacturers can’t meet the demand and everyone is seeing their fortunes evaporate. Desperate to save their dream, Grindy and Ira arrange to patch over the PR logo on no-name jeans and keep all the customers happy.

In the vein of The Devil Wears Prada, Threads is a sinfully hilarious movie from writer/director Michele Maher, who based the film on her own real life experience working in the insane New York fashion industry.
